'When Percy met Norman' Artsfest 2018
Poster, programme and a competition flier, designed to promote a new Artsfest to be held in Cumbria at The Settlement at Castle Hill, Maryport. The image of the heads of Percy Kelly and Norman Nicholson, were created to show a fusion of art and literacy for which these men are famous. The 50's style poster in A1 size, is intended to have a lasting value.
Asia’s only established trade event, covering every aspect of the tyre industry, allows people to do business and make contacts. The image of people gathering under one roof was borrowed and adapted to make a tread pattern on the brochure cover, with a series of photographs extending this idea through to the inside.
The British Travel Trade Fair event guide
This design was produced for the launch of the first ever BTTF at the NEC Birmingham, an event which replaced ‘MOOT’ and ‘Travelpact Wales’ as the most effective forum for the group travel industry to meet and to do a high level of business. It was an all-Britain event, supported by the English, Scottish, Wales and Northern Ireland Tourist Boards and the British Tourist Authority. Its success was virtually guaranteed, as the show sold out weeks before it opened. 380 exhibitors represented 800 different products.
This brand and complete range of promotional material was one of a stream of speculative pitch wins which I designed to help attract a shoal of visitors -10 000 of them in the Aquatarium’s opening week - well above expectations. One of the features of the attraction itself was an underwater glass tunnel, where visitors could walk through whilst viewing species on an artificial lake bed habitat. This inspired me to draw species of water life combined with typography in the shape of a spiral, to create this tunneling whirlpool effect for the branding.
